“Bond-Backed Tales”

For the book “Bond-Backed Tales,” I arbitrarily and unilaterally selected the 25 images shown below (I chose them because I made them—using Canva, oil paint, and a lot of erasers—so who’s going to stop me?).

These posters, depicting Bond films, are not entirely thought out but are nevertheless carefully crafted and well-executed. They come from the famous and internationally renowned jamesbond.com.pl, exhibited in galleries (and not just the shopping kind).

It just so happened that this site was chosen long ago (showing great promise) to promote and celebrate Bond, and this decision had absolutely nothing to do with my personal interest in Bond or anything like that.

Simply put, it was the best choice.

(Yes, there was a bit of resistance at first, but after employing some persuasive arguments, he came around.)

“Bond-Backed Tales,” translated as “Stories with Bond in the Background”—is a kind of “spy” maneuver, a clever wordplay, a trap of sorts.

On one hand, Bond “in the background” refers to Bond as the pretext for the stories (not necessarily the protagonist), and on the other, “in the background” because he’s on the posters hanging on the wall.

You know what I mean.

After the colossal and spectacular lack of interest in the Polish version, riding the wave of that non-success, this time the book will be released in English (with plans for Mongolian, Uralic, and Caribbean editions too).

The graphics presented below will illustrate the entries, excerpts, stories, and anecdotes related to Bond or just meander aimlessly around his vicinity.

Alright, the graphics are done (sorry for the wrinkles, but that’s how the Author delivered them), now all that’s left is to write the damn texts, and the book will be ready.

And then… Ah, one can dream… Then, drenched in sweat, fame and recognition will follow—interviews, press conferences, and expressions… sometimes of sympathy, as well as epithets, epitaphs, and epistolary exchanges!

For those who fancy taking a break from fights, murders, booze, cats, TikToks, and car chases to look at something Cultural with a capital Q, we wish you a pleasant viewing experience.
